🕯️🐾 Día de los Muertos: Honoring Our Beloved Animal Companions
Did you know that October 27th is a special day during Día de los Muertos, when we welcome back the souls of our beloved animals who have crossed over to the other side?
Before the human spirits arrive on November 1st, it’s believed our furry companions return first, eager to visit, comfort, and guide us.
This tradition comes from the pre-Hispanic belief that dogs, especially the sacred Xoloitzcuintli, guided souls safely across the river into the afterlife. Today, we honor all pets who have ever loved us through every lifetime. 🐕🐈🦔🐾

How to welcome your beloveds home today:
✨ Create a small ofrenda (altar)
✨ Add a photo, collar, favorite toy, or treat
✨ Offer fresh water and light a candle
✨ Speak their name with love
Because love does not disappear, it simply changes form, becoming something eternal and luminous. 🌈 🐾

Maizy is very aware of the extra soft, swirly spirit air that is beginning to stir.

“Mom, the veil is open. I’ll greet them. I know the way.”
