Yule Craft Time

Yule Craft Time

🌲 Yule Craft Time! 🌲

🍊Today I made dried orange ornaments for Yule

✨This is such an easy, intuitive craft! You can keep it simple or go all out.

I’ll probably add star anise to mine later, but for now, I wanted to focus on the intentionally colored string I chose for each ornament.

Dried orange ornaments symbolize the sun and the return of light after the long, dark winter.

Because color carries magical properties, I chose thread colors based on what I want to invite in as the light returns.

(Also… please admire my very professional paper-clip needle invention because I didn’t have one big enough for the thread 😂)

✨ How to Make Them ✨

You’ll need:
👉Dried orange slices
👉String or thread in intentional colors
👉A needle (or a paper clip, apparently)

To dry oranges:
Slice oranges and bake at 250°F for a few hours. Line your tray with parchment paper and bake until the slices are dehydrated and translucent.

Next:
1. Decide what you want to call in for the new year.
2. Choose a color that corresponds with your intention.

I used:
🔵 Blue — Patience
🟢 Green — Prosperity
🔴 Red — Passion
🟠 Orange — Success
🟡 Yellow — Joy
⚫ Black — Protection
3. Thread your needle and tie the string onto the orange slice. As you do, focus on your intention and gently send that energy into the ornament.
4. Add any extras you like: spices, charms, herbs, or sigils.

That’s it! Easy to do, great for little ones, and perfect for Yule 🌞

What would your color be?
